Hello everyone! The gyms for the second last tournament of the season have been posted.

We have two new gyms this month. Super Rec A will play at the BiHi in Dartmouth (85 Victoria Road), Super Rec B will play at Millwood High in Sackville (141 Millwood Drive) and Competitive will be at their normal location at Stad.

I will post the links on the Gym Locations page once Google Maps starts working properly again. You can visit Google Maps and drop the address into the search and get directions though if you would like.

See you all Saturday!

Super Rec B Gym Location and Directions

Posted by Luke on Wednesday March 3 2010 2:25 pm in Tournaments | Comments (0)

We have confirmed that Super Rec B will be playing this weekend at Eric Graves Junior High in Dartmouth.

I don’t believe we’ve ever played there but these are some directions from our very own John Skelton:

70 Dorothea Road in Woodlawn Heights/Belyea park area. Best way to get there is to take Portland Street, up the big hill by Portland Estates/Hills until you reach the Caldwell Road Intersection: turn left on and keep going about 1/2km until you reach the school.

The Gym Locations page has also been updated with a Google Maps link which you can use to get turn-by-turn directions to the gym from your house, or wherever you may be going to the tournament from on Saturday morning.

March Gym Locations

Hey everyone,

The registrations page and gym locations for the March tournament have been updated.

Note to Competitive teams, if you have any new players whose names have not yet been submitted to Sophie (Sophie [dot] Pitre-Arseneault [at] dfo-mpo [dot] gc [dot] ca) for play at Stad, please email her the names ASAP so she can have them added to the list and they will be able to play Saturday.

Note to Super Rec B teams, the gym is marked as TBA at the moment because we have a gym name, and a gym location, but they do not match up. Once this little problem is resolved (hopefully by Wednesday at noon), the location will be updated. Check the site again until the gym location is updated.

February Tournament News and Notes

The registrations and gym locations have been posted for the February tournament. Check the registrations page to see where you and your team is playing.

Note to Competitive teams, if you have any new players playing on your team this month you need to get those players names to Sophie (Sophie [dot] Pitre-Arseneault [at] dfo-mpo [dot] gc [dot] ca) so she can get them on the list at the Stad entry.

Also, the CVNS executive is looking for someone to help with the Court Rep duties for Super Rec A. Duties involve a monthly meeting to discuss any issues in your division, as well as some help with setting up and taking down the nets at the end of the tournament. It is very important that we fill this position ASAP, otherwise, there is a chance the Super Rec A division will have to cease play until someone is found. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Kevin Reade (readek at eastlink.ca) or John Skelton (johnskelton at accesswave.ca).

Don’t forget that Saturday night after the tournament there will be the annual “Post-February Tournament Party”, as this month, CVNS raises money for KidSport in Nova Scotia. The festivities will begin around 9pm. Drink tickets will be available (in limited supply), so come on out after the tournament for some good times for a good cause!

January Gym Locations

Posted by Luke on Wednesday January 6 2010 12:56 am in Tournaments | Comments (0)

Gym locations for the first tournament of the new decade have been posted!

Competitive is at Stad once again. Super Rec A play at Sackville High and Super Rec B is at Halifax West. Check the registrations page to see where you’ll be playing.

If the recent storms have got you down, come on out to the Argyle for a “Beat the Winter Blues” social to “warm up”. Note, this won’t an “official” CVNS party (read: no drink tickets), but drink prices will be cheap, and you’ll be able to enjoy the company of your fellow volleyballers, and that’s not too bad!!

The official CVNS party will be next month’s tournament, which is the tournament for charity, where proceeds go to KidSport (http://www.kidsportcanada.ca/).

Have fun out there!
