Year End Tournament and Social

Hello everybody!

The final tournament of the year is this Saturday, May 5th.

Competitive will once again at Stad, A plays at Auburn and B at Sackville High. Check the registrations page to see what division you’re playing in.

As is customary, the famous CVNS social will be held after this month’s tournament. This year’s party will be held at the DAL Gradhouse, found at 1252 LeMarchant (corner of LeMarchant and University). Festivities will go from 9pm until ? (the question mark means it could go ALL night, but they are planning to kick us out at 1am, so the more accurate conclusion to the party is then). There will be finger foods provided and cheap drinks.

April Tournament

April tournament locations have been posted. Competitive is at Stad, while Super Rec A plays at the BiHi in Dartmouth and Super Rec B plays at Sackville Heights Junior High.

Note that after the May tournament we are going to have our famous CVNS Year End social! Details will be on the site soon, and court reps will be able to supply you with all (read: some) of the information about the social.

Quick Note About April Tournament

Just a quick note about the April tournament, with Easter weekend falling on the first Saturday of that month, the tournament will be played on April 14th, rather than the 7th.

Everyone playing at Stad MUST have photo ID to show to the commissionaires at the gate. Also, please have your teams there at 8:30 because we MUST be off this court at 3:00 pm.

December Tournament Details

Hello everyone,

The last tournament of 2011 is this Saturday. As per, Competitive is at Stad, while Super Rec A makes their return to Auburn and B plays at Halifax West. Check the Registrations page for more.

Please be reminded that the tournament will be starting at 9am sharp! So be there and be ready to play, and I’ll be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas!

The KCA Athletic Department is in need of some funds so I’m planning a women’s charity tournament to help out. The school is new so we’ve got some fabulous new equipment to use!

Cost for the tournament is $100 per team and I’m taking 10 teams.

October Tournament and News

Hello Volleyball Friends,

The second tournament of the year is already upon us, happening this Saturday. Competitive will be at Stad, Super Rec A will be at Auburn, and Super Rec B will be a Sackville High at 9am sharp. Directions can be found on the gym locations page, while the registered teams can be found on the registrations page. Competitive teams, please email Sophie (spitrear [at] dal [dot] ca)z with your team lists and have picture IDs when you arrive at the gym on Saturday morning.

Note that this tournament will be returning to the normal format, where Competitive will play superstar format, while Super Rec A and B will be playing Co-ed format.

Rules can be found here, on the Rules page. We encourage all of our players to read and know the rules that will be used in the tournaments.

September Tournament – Welcome to CVNS 2011

Hey everyone! Teams for the September 2011 tournament have been posted! This year’s first tournament will be Superstar format ONLY (read about it here under “Rules Specific to Superstar Format”) in hopes of peaking interest in that format. Subsequent tournaments will not be in this format for Super Rec A and B. We have only 14 teams in this tournament. Super Rec teams will only play Super Rec teams, so don’t worry about facing competition that is “out of your league”.

If you want to be registered for future tournaments, PLEASE get your cheques in to the registrar. No cheques, no play. Sorry.

Captains. Please get the list of players on your team to Sophie (spitrear at dal.ca) and make sure all of your players bring PHOTO ID to Stad the morning of the tournament.

Looking forward to another great year of volleyball! Have fun out there, we’ll see you on Saturday!

While you are all no doubt recovering from the tournament yesterday, the CVNS executive has compiled a quick survey for players to take to help us improve the league. Basically, this will give us an idea on how to make the league more fun and/or exciting for the most important people, who are you, the players.
